Avatar and District 9 both have Best Picture nominations (among many others). Not much love for The Lovely Bones, except Stanley Tucci for supporting actor. I thought it was quite a good movie - certainly better than some of the other stuff that got nominated in other categories - but with the reviews that the critics gave it, I suppose it's only to be expected. Any thoughts on the list? Anything that surprised you? Anything you want to watch now that you wouldn't have otherwise?

I think that Avatar will make take most of the awards, but The Hurtlocker was a greatly crafted film.
