Looking at the two LOTRO threads got me thinking, there will certainly be various Middle Earth games released around the time of the Hobbit movies. Anyone have ideas for specific games they'd like to see made? Or how they would like to see them done?

Wikipedia has a great article on Middle Earth games in general which you can find here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle-earth_in_video_games

It covers everything from pre-movie games to those that were produced after the movies came out.

One bit of speculation from that page about the Hobbit:
It is unknown which developer/publisher would assume the task of adapting a film version of The Hobbit to a video game, especially since Jackson chose to work with Michel Ancel and Ubisoft on King Kong in light of his displeasure with EA.

Of course, it's probably likely that some games will be created based on the book version of The Hobbit, too.

To be honest, once I played some of the Lord of the Rings games.. it was horribe, really. So, I am not waiting for the release of that games.

I don't know how it's called.. but I do remember, that Frodo had to go in Bag-end and look after something, as I said, horrible. ^^

I played "The Hobbit", which was a game that came out a few years back for the XBox, PS2, and GameCube. It's a platforming, action/adventure type of game, along the lines of a Zelda game.

Personally, I liked it. I played it from start to finish. Some reviewers didn't like it, but hey, to each his own. It was faithful to the story, and I got to play Bilbo in all parts of the story. One thing that sticks out in my memory is Laketown, which I thought was a neat, fun area.

Hmmm...I didn't play any LotR games, because I think, it's breaking feeling the film and book. but it's only my opinion and I believe, that another people like it or something like that XD

Lord of the Rings Online does a great job of creating the feeling of actually being in Middle-earth. You should give it a try. :)

Just don't blame me if you end up spending all your time playing it...
