Let's share our favorite lines. :) Of course, some of these will be good quotes on their own, and others are just really great because of the way the actors deliver them.

For some reason I always love the hobbit's quotes. :p

-"I haven't been dropping no eaves, honest!"

-"It comes in pints?"

-"I don't think he knows about second breakfast, Pip." (and the whole scene surrounding it.)

Those were some great moments. :D

The first two lines that spring to mind for me (besides what you listed) are actually from Return of the King:

"For Frodo!" - I thought it was great how this was their battle cry when they were charging toward Mordor. Since they really are doing it all just to give Frodo a chance, but it seems like to some extent they forgot about him for the first part of the movie.

"I'm glad to be with you, Samwise Gamgee, here at the end of all things." - A really nice moment, plus it always reminds me of the song from the soundtrack with that title, which I listened to a lot in the month leading up to the ROTK theatrical release.

Emmie, the last quote in your message is so moving...x)

I really like Sam's brave quote
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.
It show his determination and love for Frodo as well as his devotion for the mission.

I also like Pippin's Eagles! The eagles are coming!

Oh, that's beatiful Crichton XD
Or: I know your face....Éowyn (Théoden's quote)
And she has smiled and in her eyes were tears. How graceful...~.^

I love Boromir in the Extended TTT, his speech is so moving. "FOR GONDOR!"

And of course, the infamous:

"One does not simply walk into Mordor!"

Haha... it's hard for me to think of "One does not simply walk into Mordor" anymore without thinking of all the parodies that have been done of that line.

This is a really weird one but I absolutely adore Boromir's "They have a cave troll!" from FotR. Sean Bean's delivery of the line is just priceless.

Also, Sam's speeches. He's too wonderful! <3

I always crack up when Boromir does his little "It is a gift..." thing at the Council of Elrond xD I dont know why but I love Boromirs lines!

Theoden's battle speech is amazing too. I love the Rohan ^^

That always reminds me of the parody with Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar (that's included as an "easter egg" on the Fellowship extended edition DVD).

Theoden's battle speech is amazing too.
I heard in the commentary of The Two Towers that there was actually another "battle speech" Theoden gave that got deleted, because he was so convincing that the viewers started to actually start to believe that the main characters a good chance of winning the battle at Helm's Deep.

Personally I like Aragorn's speech more, though.

"I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something."

"What are we holding onto, Sam?"

"That there's some good left in this world, Mr Frodo, and it's worth fighting for."

I like this quote the best: ^^

Frodo: What do you want?

Strider: A little more caution from you. That is no trinket you carry.

Frodo: I carry nothing.

Strider: Indeed.

Strider: I can avoid being seen if I wish. But to disappear entirely, that is a rare gift.

Frodo: Who are you?

Strider: Are you frightened?

Frodo: Yes.

Strider: Not nearly frightened enough. I know what hunts you.

Elven - that's one of my favorite quotes as well.

Also, I really like the way The Fellowship of the Ring opened, where Frodo says "You're late" and Gandalf says "A wizard is never late - nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."

Yeah, that is too...and also how Bilbo describes the hobbits ^^ and then he calls Frodo, but he's not at home! XD

Gandalf getting scary is great. "Do not take me for some conjuror of cheap tricks!"

I also really like the begining of Lord of the Rings, it makes me shiver.

I amar prestar aen…
The world is changed.
han mathon ne nen…
I feel it in the water.
han mathon ne chae…
I feel it in the Earth.
a han noston ned gwilith.
I smell it in the air.
Much that once was is lost. For none now live who remember it.

And then he proceeds to conjure a cheap trick by making the room go all dark. :D

Another favourite line that has just occurred to me is from Lothlorien in FotR. Boromir is describing Minas Tirith and the combination of the words and Sean Bean's delivery always gives me shivers.

Have you ever seen it, Aragorn? The White Tower of Echthelion, glimmering like a spike of pearl and silver, its banners caught high in the morning breeze? Have you ever been called home by the clear ringing of silver trumpets?

Ah yeah, that's great! I love it!

Here's one of my favorites, which is book-only, not in the movies. It's Aragorn's speech to the Council of Elrond, while they were deciding what to do with the Ring:

I have had a hard life and a long; and the leagues that lie between here and Gondor are a small part in the count of my journeys. I have crossed many mountains and many rivers, and trodden many plains, even into the far countries of Rhun and Harad where the stars are strange.

If Gondor, Boromir, has been a stalwart tower, we have played another part. Many evil things there are that your strong walls and bright swards do not stay. You know little of the lands beyond your bounds. Peace and freedom, do you say? The North would have known them little but for us. Fear would have destroyed them. But when dark things come from the houseless hills, or creep from sunless woods, they fly from us. What roads would any dare to tread, what safety would there be in quiet lands, or in the homes of simple men at night, if the Dunedain were asleep, or were all gone into the grave?

And yet less thanks have we than you. Travelers scowl at us, and countrymen give us scornful names. “Strider” I am to one fat man who lives withing a day’s march of foes that would freeze his heart, or lay his little town in ruin, if he were not guarded ceaselessly. Yet we would not have it otherwise. If simple folk are free from care and fear, simple they will be, and we must be secret to keep them so. That has been the task of my kindred, while the years have lengthened and the grass has grown.

EDIT: wait, I just noticed that this thread is for movie quotes (Ogg not read!!). So here's one of my favorite movie quotes. Well, I'll have to go with Theoden's words right before facing down the Oliphaunts of the Haradrim. Not so much the words themselves but the context:
"Reform the lines! Reform the lines!...Take them head-on! CHARGE!!"

That scene makes me tear up, and I'm not a crier at all. (What man is, I suppose.)

Now if they would take Eowyn's antics out of it, it would be that much better. One of Jackson's mess-up, IMO. Sheesh....

There's actually a book quotes thread here, if you feel like copying the Aragorn quote over:

the opening one for sure!

maby some more:
"All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you"

"Well, here at last, dear friends, on the shores of the Sea comes the end of our fellowship in Middle-earth. Go in peace! I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil."

Right, I'm sooooo going to give myself away with these, I'm afraid... But the ones I first come up with, are all Aragorn's.

At the council of Elrond, to Frodo:

If, by my life or death, I can protect you, I will.

Upon finding Pippin's Lórien brooch when they're chasing the band of Urûk Hai:

Not idly do the leaves of Lórien fall

These are very short ones, but I absolutely love these. I think it's partially because of the way he delivers them.

Also, still in the Prancing Pony, his entire explanation about the Nazgûl.

And off course, his speech before the Black Gate... That one gives me shivers every single time I see it.

* Chuckles *
Actually, all this makes me feel like watching the movies again! I want an Extended Edition marathon! :D

I agree with you Lanyare - but I have mention that I like to listen Viggo voice then the most of phrases when he talks are great;) (well, except when he sings:P)

He does have such a great voice, doesn't he? I most definitely like to listen to it, as well. Actually, I even like some of his singing. Not everything, but when he was singing about Lúthien in the Extended Edition, that had a certain charm.

Aah, that part was great. Was going to mention it myself, but instead I'll quote yours for truth ;) And to bring it to the front in case some people haven't seen it yet. I think this is the first time I've actualy read it (instead of just hearing it in the movie)

I do have to admit that I really like that one, as well. It's so cool, by the way, how he's referring to great stories that stayed with you, as Lord of the Rings itself is one of those for sure. That part of it always makes me smile.
