Out of The Hobbit, The Fellowship of The Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of The Ring?
Obviously, I like most fans, view this series of books as installments in one long and magnificent story, however I think The Two Towers is my absolute favorite part.

Fellowship is definitely my favorite. It was the first book I'd read in the series, and I was totally engrossed by it. I remember being so wowed by the descriptions and details. Not that the rest of the books are bad or different, it's just that the Fellowship of the Ring was the first, for me.
((Totally tried to read the Hobbit before the series, you know, in the right order and all, but I found it mundane and tedious :X Only after reading the Lord of the Rings was I able to get through it.))
