So - which ones are you looking forward to most? :)

I've complied a list of the ones I can think of:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part I - November 19, 2010

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader - December 10, 2010

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - May 20, 2011

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part II - July 15, 2011

The Power of the Dark Crystal - 2011 (?)

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - 2011 (?)

Brave - June 15, 2012

And some others that may eventually make it to theaters (rights have been bought, in some cases scripts have been worked on, but not in production and don't have a release date):

The Wheel of Time: The Eye of the World
The Elfstones of Shannara
Untitled Warcraft movie
Here, there be dragons
Drood
The Historian
Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell

As much as I love the Harry Potter books, I've always been less excited about the movies. I still haven't seen Half Blood Prince, and I probably won't make any great effort to see the Deathly Hallows movies in theaters either.

On the other hand, I'm stoked about Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, if they do it. I finished the book not too long ago, and it was so amusing. Plus, think of all the movie nights, watching the BBC version then Zombies haha

I'm mostly looking forward to Voyage of the Dawn Treader. But I'd definitely want to see The Power of the Dark Crystal as well, since I saw the puppet-movie as well.
Less interested in Pirates by now, though. I have the slight impression they're milking it out. Might go and see it anyways, but I don't really have high expectations.

Some of the titles on the second list, however, get me all excited! If only... I'd love to see The Wheel of Time, for sure, and The Shannara series as well.

I'll probably see the last two Harry Potter movies. I was pretty much always a lot more excited about LOTR, even in 2001, but I still enjoy them, and the sixth movie was one of my favorites in the series. And I have to say I'm looking forward to Pirates 4 as well - they may be milking it, but it's still got Johnny Depp, and from the Wikipedia page it sounds like they're actually working to make the story interesting.

I wish the fantasy movies from this year had been better. Although I haven't seen any of them, Prince of Persia, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, and Percy Jackson & the Olympians all seem to have received average reviews and box office sales. Which shows, in my opinion, that for a fantasy movie to be successful you actually have to put effort into the development and hire people who know what they're doing, but I'm afraid it might scare studios away from making that type of movie at all.

If only they'd make the sequels to The Golden Compass as well!! They should forbid making movies if you're not doing the entire series.

I'm also disappointed about the lack of a Golden Compass sequel. :(

I thought they were making the sequels, what happened?

Crisis happened, and The Golden Compass not getting them enough money, and therefore the movie companies playing it safe.
I guess it may have been too controversial for the States, but, if I remember correctly, box offices weren't bad in the other parts of the world.

I haven't heard anything about it being greenlighted again, though. I'd much, much rather see these sequels than the next Potter or Twilight movie however. :(
