Any favorites, of all the posters that were released for all three films? What about favorites on a per-movie basis?
Anyone own any of them? I remember I was seriously considering one to put on my wall around the time The Two Towers came out, although in the end I never did. :p
I've tracked down most of the posters and copied them below, in case anyone needs a reminder.

I always kinda wanted the one from RotK with just Aragorn. Never did get it though. I didn't really like any of the Two Towers ones, if I remember right.

My favourite of Fellowship is the one that has the Argonath on it. I love the quote on there. :D
And the Return of the King one with Aragorn in close-up is entirely droolsome. A friend of mine gave me another one, resembling the one of him riding his horse, but it has different coloring (blue-ish shade) and looks better overall. I never did get around to hanging it up on my wall, though, because I wanted to get it framed and still haven't done so.
Suppose I will never get around to it anymore now, unfortunately. Unless my Ranger won't mind having an Aragorn-poster in the livingroom, as that is where my computer corner will be made.
Also love the map-posters.... There's none featured here, but they're out there. I have one like that waiting for a frame as well. ;-)

I like the second one (the smaller version was in my room' door for a while), the 3rd one (with Argonath) and the one with Aragor who hold the sword - I remember him hanging looking at people from hudge posters in cinemas.
I also love the map-poster and kept it for very long time at the desk under the glass cover..and I still imagine it in my bedroom if I will get house one day...I just hope it's still in good condition since I left home...

Let's see... I really like all three of the Fellowship of the Ring ones, so it's hard to pick a favorite of those.
For The Two Towers, I like the one showing the two towers (which, from what I remember, is the one I had considered getting), but that "A new power is rising" one is kind of impressive too. :) I don't like the Two Towers composition of the different actors nearly as much as I like the composition posters for the other movies.
For Return of the King, I like the two Frodo posters (first and last). But the Aragorn ones are very nice too. :)
Also love the map-posters....
Hmm, really? And they were for the movies, not the books? I'm not sure if I've seen those. (Or, more likely I suppose, I forgot about them.) I'm curious now, so I'll have to see if I can find a picture of one when I have some free time...
I like the second one (the smaller version was in my room' door for a while)
Yeah, I'd personally want the 11x17 version if I was going to get one. The full-size ones seem too big.

I used to have a map-poster in my room that had the movie-characters bordered around it, that I do know for sure. Perhaps it wasn't exactly a theatrical poster, but in any case it was a 'movie-edition' lol. I've attached it though I have no idea how it'll come out in the post since this is the first time I do this. :p
The one I like most of all, seems to be separate from the movies. It has a beautiful reddish colouring that fits very well with my livingroom colours... Though, I haven't even unpacked it because I want a frame for it. ;-)

I've never seen that poster before :) Not sure if I really like the characters all around the outside, I think I'd rather just have a plain poster of the map.

my map was from some fantasy magazine or something like that (what I bought to have this map:] )
I have also seen the Lan one but my one s without haracters around.
Anyway, I am sure that many sters (map ones as well) are still available to buy on internet or some shops with posters..

This is the first poster I saw for the movies and to me it brings back great memories everytime I see it, I think the the way its done is great.

Rowan: I actually think you are right. Used to have this one in my room when I still lived at my parents' house, and I bought it because of the map and they hadn't any other map-poster in that store. To be honest, I had forgotten that it had the characters on it. It's only by seeing it that I remembered it.
I do have another one waiting, though, and that is just a plain map but with warmer colouring. I'm planning on framing that one and hang it in my living room after I've moved.
Sowen: Aye, they still are. That's how I found the picture I posted... On a website selling them.

Aye, personally I think they could have been blended together a little better.
But it was interesting to see. Thanks for posting!

Me too! I love how it says "Power can be held in the smallest of things - the trilogy begins December 2001" without actually saying it's the Lord of the Rings. Because of course anyone who's read the book will be able to guess from that.

So many to chose from, I'm not sure that I could pick just a few. But its fun to see them again.
Also, this site has a fairly good list of them: http://www.arwen-undomiel.com/images/posters.php

I've the one of Arwen riding a horse. Probably should replace it, it's been on my wall for years!

My favorite isn't a theatrical one, I'm not even sure if its for just one of the films, but I paid a pretty penny for it in the New Line store, plus import fees from fedex!
Its a 4 foot long banner type poster, with all the charactors on it. I think its in sepia tones though I couls be wrong there, I've not looked at it for a few years!!
Wasn't there a poster of the fellowship silouetted (sp?) against an early blue, cloudy sky? Its an mage I've always loved, I was sure it was a poster....

I think I've tracked down the one you're talking about - I'll attach it. :)
I may have overlooked it during my first search for posters because the size is different from most posters.

I love that image... It sort of reminds me of being on the road, making a journey, and I like doing that. :D

That's the one Emmie! That's the image I always think of when someone mentions The Fellowship. Bill is right there too, I always thought that the fellowship really started breaking when they left Bill outside Moria, poor Bill :(
