Immortality

misfortune or way to happiness? Would you like to be immortal or stay human after all? What about Arwen or Luthien choice?

There was a mention about immortality already but not a thread (I am guessing^^) and disscusion about the topic. Tell us you view:)

I would not say that immortality is a way to happiness... I'd rather live one short but happy life, than be miserable for all eternity.

What I do think is fairly funny, though, is how humankind has been intrigued by immortality, or the desire of it, ever since the beginning of time. You come across it everywhere, in religion, science, art, and so on...

I often joke about wanting to live forever, because only then I'd be able to read everything. But truth be told, without my loved ones around me, I would not like it at all, and I do think that eventually, one would start longing for peace. Eternity's an awefully long time, after all.

And our earth is already becoming overcrowded, just imagine what it would be like if we'd al live forever. :eek:

it's quite scary vision about imortal human on the Earth...

Personally I wish we could live and stay young a bit longer - because when you finally find and enjoy youself in time there is not enough time to enjoy that as you geting older and somethings are not anymore the same or not appropriate...well, I don't know if it makes sens for anyone;) but I'll leave it as it is :P

Immortality is intriquing but I am not sure if would be goog for us...

Sowen, I think I understand what you mean, and I agree on that one. While immortality seems waaaay too long, I wouldn't be adverse to the idea of living longer overall and, at the same time, stay young longer as well. Not that I'm old yet, but apparently old enough to be called Mrs. instead of Mss. and I have spotted the first couple of grey hairs as well.
Ah well, just a little bit more time would be great. On the other hand, I think that mankind will always want more than they have. It is our nature to reach further and further lol.
