The report mentions a "team of 60 people" who have begun building Hobbit holes. Looks like quite a lot of progress, at least compared to everything we've seen there so far, and hopefully this means there will be news about filming soon. :)

I really cant wait for this movie now, hopefully the blu-ray will keep me busy until then :)

I have seen that - it's good that someting is happening after all changes and delays.

Definitely something that sounds more tangible than most snippets of news we've had, as well, if you ask me.
Seeing those pictures makes me wish I could just pack my bags and go off on a trip to New Zealand. The LotR-sets must have been amazing to see, but by the time I can finally afford such a trip, everything will most likely be gone again.

I wish I could go to New zeland but last time when I saw ticket prices....well, I have to won a lottery...
However, I am afraid that the Hobbit-houses site would be now close due to reconstuctions for the movie..

Anyway, some time ago I have found something interesting: http://www.redcarpet-tours.com/index.cfm
Well, I really need to win the lottery!

They ought to include second breakfasts and elevenses and afternoon tea with that tour. :p Seriously though, it looks like it would be fun. I've always thought of Red Carpet Tours in connection with the one-day Hobbiton set tour they do, and I never looked too closely at their other offerings.

And as far as I know, the Hobbiton set is still open at the moment. Though it may close soon enough.

Whoaa, aaawesome! I'm going to have to save that link. If I start saving now, maybe I can afford this in a couple of years, a small decade or so. Hopefully, they will continue doing this for so long.

It is official now... After having dreamed of New Orleans for more than 10 years, and finally seen it last year, I now have a new dream journey. :p

Thanks for sharing this Sowen!

Oh wow, that looks awesome! Eventhough I live in New Zealand, there's no way I'd be able to do a tour like that anytime soon...In a couple years maybe, if I start saving now:p

Hmm, not so sure...My friend, who works as a security guard at the set is telling me they are having issues keeping fans away from the set. But I'll ask him if it's just people trying to sneak in without going on the tour, or if the whole thing is closed. My guess is the latter....

I can't get over how awesome it is to have someone who is friends with a Hobbit movie security guard on the forums. :) I would be interested in hearing what he says if you get a chance to ask, though you're probably right; I just assumed it was open because I hadn't heard otherwise and there's nothing on the tours website about it being closed.

I was wrong:rolleyes: The tours are still going:)

It's not that cool really, he's signed an agreement, and is not allowed to say anything exciting:p

some bottles of whisky or whatever your friend likes and you will know everything;)

Lucky you Niniel to live in such a beautiful coutry:)

Indeed, Sowen, that was my first thought too. ;) Even if some small piece of information ended up on the internet, I'm not sure how it could be traced back to him. If he was just telling a friend who had no intention of telling anyone else it'd be even less likely.

Apparently Niniel's security guard friend is much more trustworthy than I am. :p

Haha, hmm, pretty sure I could get him to spill someting after a few drinks.... He's pretty talkative:p

Emmie: Perhaps his trustworthyness is exactly one of the reasons he's assigned to the site. :p
Seriously, I doubt if I'd be able to not say anything at all about it, either.

Those pictures definitely make me excited to see more progress on the movie.

Also, I'd be willing to pitch in for this bottle of alcohol, haha. Any first hand "secretive info" has to be good stuff :)
