Hello,
It's a long time ago I logged in Hobbit Forums, but I am back with many news. :)
My friend was a few months ago in England (for those, who don't know me, I am from the Czech Rpb), living in one old mansion and traveling along the country. She's a great fan of dear proffesor Tolkien as well as me, so she HAD TO visit Oxford too. :) I've seen some photos and it's really wonderful place...and when I imagine, that Tolkien was walking there...aaah...:D Okay, I should get to the main theme. :) She visited Tolkien's grave!!! I so so so wish I could be with her there!!! If you want to know, how the grave looks in winter, I will put here a photo. And why is this thread called "One little stone"? 'Cause she's brought me a stone from this place...Maybe it sounds strange, but it means for me very much. One of my biggest dreams is, that once I will go there...to England, to those places, where Tolkien lived. I love this write, because he wasn't only a great writer, but a great man.

Clarett

P.S.
Eh, sorry for my English...please, if you want to, correct me some mistakes. I would be glad for it. ^^

Thanks for taking the time to put this up! I'm glad you're back. I've visited Oxford, but never Tolkien's grave... but I would love to go back to England someday.

Also, since we're on The Hobbit Forums, I have a feeling I can guess what the results of your poll will be. :)

Your English is fine, and I can definitely understand everything you're trying to say! I wouldn't worry about it. If you'd like some suggestions, just so you can get better at it, I've offered a few below:

- "It's a long time ago" could be replaced with "It's been a long time since"
- Instead of saying "many news," it should be something like "a lot of news" (or, even "much news" would sound more correct than "many news")
- "it's really wonderful place" should be either "it's a really wonderful place" or "it's really a wonderful place."
- "It means for me very much" should be "it means very much to me" or "it means a lot to me"

Nice to meet you Clarett, and welcome back I'd say. Voted and probably, by doing so, I've nudged it a little more into the direction Emmie expects it to go.

First of all, your English isn't bad at all! So really no need to worry about that.

Anyway, thanks a lot for posting that picture. I never thought of looking up a picture of his grave, so this is the first time I see it. I'm planning to go to Oxford for a couple of days this summers, to meet up with an online friend of mine who lives there. Now that I have seen this picture, I'll be sure to go and visit the grave as well.

Really love the thoughtfullness of your friend to bring back a stone for you.

Great expierience!
I saw the graves, house of Tollkien and was in Igle and a Child pub long time ago as well...definitely I want to came back and take proper pics for memories...
It was also quite emotional expierience and probably people found me mad when I had large eyes and stupid smile in these places...What I liked was the fact that on the cemetary there was available copy of note and a map about Tolkien places in Oxford - very helpful, as had no map of Oxford:)

By the way - when I was at Northmoor Road there was renovation in Tolkien House - I am wondring what is there now (well, always forgot to look on Internet about it..) Do you know anything about that?
