Anyone seen it, or planning to see it? If so, what did you think?

I'm still uncertain about whether I'll wait for the DVD rental, but it's been hyped so much over the past few months that I'm interested in hearing what people think of it. Plus, a lot of the effects were done by Weta.

I plan on going to see it, though I'm not sure yet when I'll be going. Probably after New Year, I suppose. I'll try to remember to let you know what I thought of it.
The movie definitely looks very colourful, and I'm fairly sure that the special effects will be splendid. I do hope the story will be worth it as well. But ah, I'll try to not have too high expectations. That way, I can only be pleasantly surprised. ;)

I was talking to someone yesterday who had seen it. Their expectations weren't enormously high, but they ended up enjoying it a lot. I suppose I may have to get myself to a movie theatre sometime in the next couple weeks. :)

Ooh, good to hear that the movie was enjoyable! Hehe, the one who gets to the theatre first, fills in the other, okay? :p

Just go back from my IMAX Experience, the best movie I have saw since LOTR. Got me emotional in some parts.

Still haven't seen it - I went to Sherlock Holmes instead - but I definitely want to.

The Lovely Bones comes first though. I managed to get tickets to a special screening the day after tomorrow. :)

I thought The Lovely Bones was a great film, its not normally a film I'm usually into but it did keep me on the end of my seat.

Emmie your gonna love Avatar, I took my partner and she thought it was just another sci-fi shoot'em up but its so much more! Were going to see it again over the weekend :)

Hehe, I'd love to see Sherlock Holmes as well!

Still haven't gotten around to seeing Avatar yet, myself, though. And I won't have time this weekend either, due to another newyear family visit. January's always so BUSY!!
Anyhow, I'm going to try for next weekend.
And maybe Sherlock the weekend after that one, then. :D

So guess what? I finally saw it!

Definitely better than I expected going in, and for that matter better than I thought it would be after the first 20 mintues.

Awesome! I still haven't seen it myself. Almost went to the theatre last Saturday, but it had been pouring rain all day long, and that made me feel like staying home, curled up onto the couch, with a nice warm blanket across my legs. So I'll make another attempt next weekend I guess.

Anyways... Good to hear it was better than you expected.

Yep. :) And, I don't know... after having a few days to let it sink in, I don't want to give the impression that it was the best movie ever or anything. I've read reviews saying that the characters weren't well developed, and after thinking about it, that's probably true - it's just that the visuals (and to a lesser extent the story) is so overwhelming that you don't notice it.

Iīve seen the movie, but I think itīs not a good film. :) I don't like the music, dialogues...for me it's a normal movie. Nothing more. ^^

I have also seen the movie.
I can say well done for all effects, designs, scenography ect. It was very good show -especially to see in 3D.
However, I agree with the opinion about not enough developed characters and plot - the plot was very hollywood one...

I think it is a film worth to see but not to be overthrilled.
